Can You Start A Business On The Web Without Capital?

While there are many successful off-line and online businesses where people started with little or no capital, the Internet is unique that in the majority of cases the pioneers started off with little or no capital.

The Internet has an abominable business-failure rate. Only 5% of all entrants are successful and out of those only about 20% make really good money.

Starting with low or no capital on the web will probably always be possible, but it would be safe to say that it would only be the savvy and well clued-up that will achieve success in that way. There are many reasons for this, but the main reason is that the business environment on the web has changed drastically lately.

One of the biggest mistakes that the majority of newcomers to Internet marketing makes, is to assume that it will be easy to get rich while relaxing on the beach. The clever marketers and purveyors of hundreds of schemes and wild promises have created a myth that is very hard to break; and that is that making lots of money with no capital outlay is easy on the Internet.

To build a business on the web takes planning. Like any other business, capital is needed. Wannabe entrepreneurs will do well to plan their capital needs properly. The most important aspect is the advertising and promotion budget; it is also the most difficult element to plan for. It is mainly because of this that the majority of newcomers fall for the misleading hype that they can start with little or no capital.

If the prospective entrepreneur has all the skills plus lots of available time, energy and stamina the chances are fair that success will arrive within a reasonable time span. Among the skills must be the ability to build a proper sales website that is correctly optimised for search engines. The sales page, which is normally the landing page, must be expertly written and set up so as to convince the reader to buy. This last aspect is of vital importance even and especially if you pay the search engines for traffic.

Let us first look at the some of the capital elements that are required.

Obviously, a computer plus all peripherals is needed, but you can even stumble over this aspect if you're not careful. The DIY entrepreneur better see to it that he/she has the best available equipment otherwise a lot of frustrations and headaches await.

Without a broadband connection you will spend many frustrating hours waiting for sites to load.

Pay your ISP at least a year ahead for subscription. This will make it possible to carry on with bum marketing even when you are too broke to pay monthly subscriptions. In this case "bum marketing" refers to no cost marketing.

The next thing on which the Wannabe must lay out capital is a proper course for learning Internet marketing. This is where the newcomer get skinned and fleeced and minced in a way that eventually becomes a financial nightmare. Get the right trainer right from the start, or get slaughtered.

Every single opportunity that is advertised promises thousands of dollars per day if only the newcomer would invest his/her hard-earned money with the latest greatest thing on the global web. To top it all, proof of earnings (sometimes fraudulent) is given to show how easy it is to earn untold riches if only the newcomer will invest with the advertiser.

Honest trainers like, Dr Ken Evoy, Jim Daniels, Jimmy D Brown and many others are trying to combat the fraudulent selling of misleading and worthless products, but the practice of "BS Baffles" brains is nowhere as rife as on the Internet.

If the newcomer is lucky, he/she will pick up the phrase "Bum Marketing" and do a Google search. There are one or two decent guys who teach bum marketing at very low cost or even free of charge.

In closing; a warning to newcomers to Web Marketing: Stay away from the guys who were last year's, last month's or an all time sales champion. It means that they have mastered the art to baffle with BS virtually any brain that comes along. Why would a guy who is a millionaire want to give away his blood secrets to a newcomer anyway?

There are a few millionaires, but they don't go around talking about it and they have solid businesses on the web that has very little to do with the latest greatest money making scheme on the web.

Rather do a Google search for Ken Evoy, Jim Daniels and Jimmy D Brown. If you don't like their prices, they will surely refer you to someone that gives good advice and worth the price.

Lastly, make your very first venture into Internet marketing as an affiliate. That way you will get familiarized with the way business is done on the web. Again, ask one of those big guys that are recommended.

Remember some people genuinely have the ability to sell coals to a coal mine - so, if you're not careful you will end up buying a ton of rubbish.
